David has coached football in the Niagara and the Hamilton Regions for 17 years, starting with Minor League, then high school, which he also helped lead to championships.
David Howe joined the Niagara Varsity Spears as Head Coach in 2005 during the Varsity team inaugural year. During the last 6 seasons, the Varsity Spears have seen three conference championships, two of which they won and an OVFL Championship winning in their inaugural year.
David has been honoured with The St. Catharines Sportsperson of the Year ‘05 as well as OVFL Coach of the Year in ‘05 and ‘07. He continually challenges his players, coaches and himself to improve football skills, personal growth and to constantly develop as a team. David has been blessed and is thankful for a strong coaching staff each year. He is proud to witness many of his player’s progress at higher levels including CIS all-star teams, U.S. Colleges and now being recruited into the CFL.
David has successfully balanced his responsibilities as a coach, husband, father of a blended family of 5 children and a full time Realtor. He looks forward to contributing to football for years to come. |
