    The Newmarket Young Bucs have just completed their first year in the OVFL. The program, formerly of the OFC, evolved a year ago after the Bucs took over the Newmarket Storm, thus unifying the football community in the city. As with most new franchises, let alone one new to the OVFL, there were challenges but some promising developments, including the performance of their bantam team who came within a tie break of the playoffs.     Its been a good few weeks for the OVFL Commisioner Joe Cressy where public relations are concerned. Last week he did a great interview with David Grossman on the FAN590 National Radio Show (go to show page) and just this Tuesday CHCH TV in Hamilton came calling. Here is Joe with Hamilton Morning Show's Lori De Angelis informing the Golden Horseshow about all things OVFL. Nice job Commish.

    Its taken a while but the OVFL brand of football is beginning to get the attention it deserves. In recent weeks former OVFL stars J'Michael Deane, Matt Black and just this Saturday Brian Bulke have been on David Grossmans national FAN590 national radio show talking about their rise through our ranks and what it meant to them on their way to NCAA schools and now the pro's. Not surprisingly David has requested more from the OVFL, current players and its grads and in coming weeks expect more on former OVFL players including a few currently playing for Canada's national team competing in 2011 IFAF senior World Championships in Austria.
